Real People. Real Projects: Unexpected Accents
Real Floor & Decor customers continue to find even more ways to use our tile, wood, and stone. Here are a few finished projects that we think will make you say “Why didn’t I think of that sooner?”
We didn’t expect to see patterned tile on the fireplace hearth, but we’re not complaining! Using a small pop of patterned tile is an easy way to update a space on a budget. Lesley (@moonstruckproperties) gave this fireplace a facelift simply by adding shiplap and a coat of black paint, and then installing Bayona Decorative Tile to create a hearth with personality. It was a quick and easy update on a budget, and it looks like it cost a fortune!
Dan & Melissa (@calafiaconstructionco) brought some new perspective to the popular picket tile trend. A vertical placement of this Canvas White Offset Picket Porcelain Mosaic allows the picket shape to run parallel to the oven range and the modern minimalist shelving. Not only does it act as a backsplash, but it also complements the design of the room.
Katie (@vintagethreadsco) put a new twist on this kitchen counter bar with an accented kick wall! In her personal transitional Bohemian space, Festival Arabesque Lantern White Porcelain Mosaic adds to the sleek design of the kitchen counter and walls. Her choice to use blue grout makes the mosaic pop and accentuates the all-white design of the space.
Stephanie (@lifecreated) gave her busy kitchen an uplifting accent by taking Atlantic Fan Polished Porcelain Mosaic to new heights. A white subway turned vertical elongates the space between the counter and the shelves while the fan-shape tile above the stove draws attention upward. This bright design is a great way to keep everyone looking up on dreary mornings!
Bekah & Lerilyn (@therushcollection) put a spin on the traditional marble bathroom by putting the stone-look Calacatta Labrinto Porcelain Mosaic in the shower AND the bathtub niche. The dark geometric lines and wavy patterns in the stone-look design tie every element of the space together.
