Customer Questions & Answers

What is the best way to install this product on an interior sheetrocked wall?

Asked by: Lee
Stone ledger should be installed on a cementitious based substrate such as cement or backer board, brick, block or a wooden substrate that has been prepped with a metal lath and scratch coat. The ledger panels are too heavy to be attached to a paper base and would fall off, plus the moisture of the mortar would immediately compromise the drywall from the start. You don’t have to rip down the drywall to install, you can install a ¼” cement board over the drywall and be sure to use screws that are long enough to go through the cement board, drywall and into the studs.

Do you have corner pieces available??

Asked by: Lour704
While this ledger does not have a prefabricated corner piece, a professional contractor can use a miter saw to make corner pieces out of a regular panel ledger. If you have additional questions, we recommend consulting one of our free in-store designers to help you determine what would work best for your project and budget:

Can this go on a shower wall?

Asked by: jt
Beachwalk Slate Panel Ledger can be installed on a bathroom wall not exposed to water. We do not recommend installing panel ledgers in showers due to the fact that water will pool on the ledges of the uneven surface causing mold/mildew build-up. As always, we recommend for stone to be sealed before and after installation regardless of being near water.
