Mapei 27 Silver Ultracolor Plus FA Grout is a 10lbs bag of ultra premium, fine aggregate, fast-setting, polymer-modified, color-consistent, nonshrinking, efflorescence-free grout for joint widths from 1/16" to 3/4". DropEffect reduces surface absorption to help repel water, dirt and grime from penetrating grout joints. Ultracolor Plus FA is specially formulated with Mapei’s High-Hydrated Cement Technology (HCT™) to eliminate the common problems related to Portland-cement grout, such as color consistency and efflorescence.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS
• Fine aggregate (FA) allows for narrow joint widths and improved clean ability
• No efflorescence (free of Portland cement)
• Easy to install and stain-resistant
• No sealer required

WHERE TO USE
• Commercial and residential construction suitable for both interior and exterior installations
• For grouting dimensional stone, slate, granite, stone agglomerates and most types of ceramic, ceramic mosaic, quarry, brick paver, porcelain, glass and clay tiles
• For application in submerged conditions (swimming pools, spas, water features and fountains), allow for 72 hours of curing time.
• For use where grout will be exposed to foot traffic within 3 to 4 hours
• For joint widths from 1/16" to 3/4"

Prior to beginning your project, please consult the manufacturer's installation guide

Coverage depends upon your tile size. We recommend checking page 5-6 on the Technical Data Sheet under "Install & Product Documents" for approximate coverage for your grout joint.

Debating between regular white and the avalanche color is there much of a difference? I used Rushmore color bricks.

Asked by: Nik
The white grout has a warmer, softer white color, whereas the avalanche grout is a true and stark white. If you have additional questions, please feel free to set up a virtual design appointment! Is this "UNSANDED" grout??

Asked by: jay
The "FA" in Ultracolor Plus FA stands for Fine Aggregate, as there is a very fine-grain sand in the product. Ultracolor Plus FA is unique because it uses a very fine sand, making it able to be applied in joints 1/16" up to 3/4" wide. If you are grouting a particularly soft glass or polished marble, we suggest performing a small test area first to ensure that the grout will not scratch. It is not common for Ultracolor Plus FA to scratch, but with some stones and glass, they can be sensitive to any amount of grit. If you have additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Care Team at 877-675-0002.

Is the 24 hours the time before the shower can be used

Asked by: Bill
Mapei recommends that the grout will need to cure for 72 hours before it is safe to use the shower regularly. After 24 hours, the grout can be exposed to water sparingly. Please follow all manufacturer’s recommendations for installation.

How long before taking a shower and cleaning up rough edges of grout?

Asked by: Brad
Mapei advises to allow the grout to firm for 15 to 30 minutes depending on the temperature, humidity, and absorption rate of the tile. Then use two buckets of cleaning water-one for rinsing the majority of the residue from the grout sponge and the other for moistening the sponge in clean water. In 30 to 60 minutes from grouting, Mapei advises to buff the grouted surface with a cheesecloth or clean, dry cotton cloth to remove visible haze from the tile. Keep the area safe from foot traffic for 3 hours after installation. For at least 72 hours after completion, protect the area from rain and freezing. The grout must be cured for at least 24 hours before regular cleaning. Please follow all manufacturer’s recommendations for installation and protection prior to exposing the area to water.
