What is nail down installation?

Wood flooring can be installed in a variety of ways depending on the type of product, installation location, and subfloor. The nail down method is typically the most common and economical method of installing a wood floor. Typically installed by nailing the material through the tongue of the boards into the wooden subfloor so the nails are not visible after the flooring is installed. Requires plywood or OSB subfloor for nails to penetrate and can only be used with concrete subfloors if plywood base is first installed. We recommend consulting with your installer for more advice on what works for your project. Please refer to the manufacturer guidelines, warranty documents, and installation instructions for more details.
