Hill’s goal for the renovation was to lighten and freshen the space. Built in 1985, the home’s small format tile, wood paneling, and purple carpet were first to go. Matte tile textures and a neutral color palette took the place of outdated elements to create modern cohesion at an unbelievable value.

In need of a statement piece for the living room fireplace, Hill opted for Andover White Porcelain Tile for the surround. To make the fireplace opening more proportionate to the space, she selected Onyx Noir Polished Porcelain Tile to enhance the scale and bring drama with sophisticated coordination.

Basalt Stacked Honed Mosaic set against neutral Bellevue Matte Porcelain Tile was a seamless backsplash pairing for Hill. Kept as part of her library of samples, she knew the stone mosaic’s texture and elevated look juxtaposed with neutral tile would enhance the renovation’s minimalist design. Talk about a mini bar with major style!

Where there’s an empty wall, there’s an accent waiting to make a statement. And so, to bring an unexpected flash of drama, Hill chose the Andover White XL Porcelain Slab to grace the headboard in the primary bedroom. Echoing the look from the fireplace proved a smart way to combine cohesion and surprise under one roof. The same approach allowed for perfect parity again with Hill using Bellevue Matte Porcelain Tile from the mini bar backsplash in the primary shower.
