Nestled along the tree-lined streets of Atlanta, Jared Hughes of Jared Hughes Design put his stamp on his personal residence. Within his brownstone, Hughes brought English charm to life with natural limestone, sage marble, and clever installation patterns. Floor & Decor helped create a timeless foundation for this bold interior.
Built in the ‘80s, Jared always had a vision to breathe new life into his home: primary and guest bathrooms, to start. “We were kind of stuck with some builder-grade, bad early 2000s, late 1990s remodel aspects,” said Jared. Following in step with his own design approach, the path was clear; bring comfort and beauty via English countryside style.
The primary bathroom got first-class treatment with tonal green and timeless marble. To anchor the space, Jared extended Statuario Honed Marble Tile from the bathroom’s threshold to the shower and tub. The classic white marble and its pronounced gray veining take a front row seat to an elevated everyday space.
Takes cues from the green paint, the marble shower walls followed suit. Jared opted for Willow Sage Honed Marble Tile for a masterclass in tying together unique yet cohesive elements in one small space. The result? You might feel you’ve made it across the pond.
Color is as essential of a tool for Jared’s projects as a hammer and nail, and it’s on full display in his guest bathroom. With arsenic yellow walls, the black and white basketweave pattern of the floors take the stage, featuring our Bianco Carrara Polished Marble Mosaic.
The shower was inspired by Edwardian design with attention to borders and detail. The classic subway tile look was created with Bright White Ceramic Tile and Raven Polished Ceramic Tile finished with a matching pencil border for a flourishing detail that takes classic to a new level without the cost.
The first step into Jared’s brownstone starts with limestone. “We wanted to unify all of the spaces on the first floor,” said Jared. “So we chose a very classic limestone paver.” The limestone is arranged in a French lay pattern for a nod to old-world charm.
Make simple materials, like limestone and subway tile, something special with unique installation patterns. This French lay pattern is ideal for accentuating the natural tumbled edges.
