Customer Questions & Answers

So I'm just trying to understand here. Any installation method besides just cleats/staples will void warranty? Even the glue assist method that uses glue and fasteners?

Asked by: Bradley
Yes, the floor manufacturer only supports the use of nails/staples. But if you utilize the glue-down method, there is typically a warranty associated with it so that there is still some sort of coverage dependent upon the glue used.

So this floor needs to be glued also or just use fasteners?

Asked by: Bradley
We recommend only nail/staple installations for Chestnut Hickory Hand Scraped Solid Hardwood. Using a full glue-down method would void the manufacturer's warranty. If you have additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Care Team at 877-675-0002.

This is listed as a nail down installation. Since the size is 5 inches, should there also be a glue used to assist, or are nails 6 inches apart sufficient?

Asked by: DSFloorGuy
Chestnut Hickory Hand Scraped Solid Hardwood can be installed using a glue assist with a bead of elastomeric adhesive on the back, such as Liquid Nails. We recommend using a caulk gun for the glue assist application. You can continue the normal nailing schedule for proper installation.
