Mapei Mapelastic Aqua Defense is a quick-drying, liquid-rubber waterproofing and crack-isolation membrane designed for tile and stone installations in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This premixed formula creates a thin, continuous barrier against water damage and prevents in-plane cracks from transferring through tile or stone. It dries in just 30 to 50 minutes, is flood-testable after 12 hours, and exceeds ANSI A118.10-LV and A118.12 standards for waterproofing and crack isolation.
Ideal for a wide range of applications, Mapei Mapelastic Aqua Defense can be applied with a roller or brush over flat, curved, or irregular surfaces. It bonds to multiple substrates, has no odor for use in confined spaces, and offers versatility for interior and exterior installations. For added protection, it can be paired with MAPEI’s Reinforcing Fabric or Mapeband™ for coves, corners, and field applications.
