Customer Questions & Answers

What are the moisture capabilities of this?  Ok to use in a kitchen / bathroom?  Want to do entire downstairs of our house in the same flooring...

Asked by: Gnicks
This is an engineered hardwood floor, meaning it is not waterproof or water-resistant, but this floor can be installed in kitchen environments. We recommend taking proactive measures to protect in the floor in areas prone to water exposure, such as using kitchen mats and quickly cleaning up spills. How should this be stored on job site? Can it be stored in an air conditioned carpeted room for a length of time. How should it be stacked if there are large amounts?

Asked by: Floor girl
Acclimating wood products is an essential step in the installation process. The best way to acclimate is to store the product in the room and climate where it will end up being installed. It is best to mirror the everyday living conditions of that product, so the room should have the AC running, and a carpeted room is great. We recommend stacking the product in a crisscross pattern (bottom row runs in one direction, the next row perpendicular) with about 2” gap in-between the boxes. Also, please remove the plastic wrap and pop the flaps open on both sides of the boxes to allow them to breathe. There is no need to pull the product completely out of the box. Acclimation for engineered generally takes 48-72 hours, but with a large product like the Palomino we would recommend closer to 72. The box should contain installation instructions with a proper acclimation time for each specific product as well as an appropriate relative humidity range for the product. This can be tested using an RH reader. If you have additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Customer Care Team at 877-675-0002.

Asked by: lankey123
Palomino White Oak has a 4mm thick veneer and can be sanded twice, possibly more if not too much is taken off during each sanding. We recommend consulting a professional regarding refinishing engineered hardwoods.
