Does Floor & Decor allow customers to make tax-exempt purchases?

Step 1: Verify You Have a My Account Login

To apply your tax-exempt status to online purchases, you’ll need to be logged into your Floor & Decor online account.

  • Register for a new account or log in to your existing account to verify your access.

  • If you submit a tax-exempt certificate without an online account, it may delay verifying your tax-exempt status.


Step 2: Verify Your Tax-Exempt Status

You can establish your tax-exempt status in one of two ways:

  1. Email us a copy of your tax-exempt certificate(s) at [email protected].

    • If you’re registered in multiple states, include all applicable certificates.
  2. Visit your nearest Floor & Decor store and our PRO Services Team will take care of the rest.


Once Your Status is Verified

  • For online submissions, you’ll receive an email confirmation within 24–48 hours.

  • For in-store verification, you can take advantage of your tax-exempt status immediately after the PRO Services Team verifies it.

  • Your tax-exempt status will apply to eligible purchases where the order is delivered or picked up in a state where your exemption is registered.


Important Information

  • Tax is determined by the delivery or pickup location. If your order ships to or is picked up in a state where you’re not registered as tax-exempt, sales tax will apply—even if your account is verified for other states.

  • Need multiple states? Email us additional certificates anytime.


Applying Tax Exemption for Online Orders

  • Log in to your Floor & Decor account before checkout (if you forget, we’ll remind you).

  • Select “Apply Tax Exemption” on the checkout page (it’s not automatic).

  • Your order total will update to remove tax on eligible items based on your certificate’s state and validity.

  • You can remove tax-exempt status from the checkout page if you change your mind.
